Barbara and I met approximately six years ago when I took a series of promotional pictures of her. We had been introduced by a common friend and the click was instant, both personally and on a literal photographic level.
As photographer you always remain the voyeur while a muse will always hold an invitation. To treasure this balance and intimacy takes both trust and courage and the more one lets go, the more will allow to reveal itself.
Being a director I am used to staging and guiding my protagonists whereas Barbara fully knows how to stage herself. We therefore explore our common stage and as equals, which allows for artist, muse and inspiration to interchange freely.
